My husband met a highly compatible Omega Chapter 5

Chapter 05
Chapter 05

The lock clicked. The stench of blood hit me immediately.

My breath caught as I flipped the light switch on.

Wei Shen was biting his own arm, trembling as he backed away.

A sharp pain struck my heart, and I raised my hand to stop him.

But he said,

"Don’t come near. I’m losing control, wife."

I dumped over twenty different suppressants from my bag onto the bed.

"Can you take any of these?"

He choked, inching closer to me.

"No use. I’ve already taken them."

I was stunned but stepped close.

"What about Shi Han? What’s going on?"

Though I only asked casually, the moment Wei Shen heard it, his expression crumbled, and he looked utterly defeated.

"You care about him, but not me."

I gave him a sarcastic grin.

"Ex-husband, spill it quick, or I’m dropping you at the hospital and leaving."

Wei Shen’s spirit crumbled further.

"He’s in his fever phase. I have to attack him with pheromones."
"But that pushed me into a heat cycle too."

He lowered his head near mine and whispered,

"I feel terrible."

I softened, though my voice stayed stern as I touched his belt buckle.

"Okay, one time, then hospital."

Suddenly, he gripped both my wrists tightly.

"No. To monitor me, he installed cameras everywhere, in the company and at home. We have to go home."

My thoughts flew to the demolished family home.

"Could it be?"

Wei Shen nodded grimly, biting his jaw and pulling on loose clothes.

"When did you find out?"

From the wind came his answer.

"The day I found out you were using synthetic pheromones regularly."

Wei Shen sent Assistant Zhao back to the old apartment.

As soon as we entered, Wei Shen rushed to the master bedroom.

I followed, watching him busily flit between the closet and the bed like a worker bee.

Pile after pile of clothes was carefully stacked on the bed, forming a small circle.

It was classic nesting behavior, an Alpha’s desperate attempt to build a nest when yearning for a mate and unable to be soothed.

I stepped forward in disbelief and pulled out the red and green floral shirt I had only worn once.

It was mine all the missing clothes from moving day were hidden here.

I glared at Wei Shen.

That glance was the breaking point; tears began to well in his eyes.

"Wife, I’m sorry."
"Don’t you love me anymore?"
"I’m the most pitiful Alpha."
"No one wants me, little cabbage, yellow in the field."

I laughed bitterly and pinched his cheek.

"Stop whining. Explain everything clearly from the start."

He rubbed my palm, eyes full of affection, and said,

"You definitely forgot."

Forgot what?

Before I could respond, he put on that familiar watch.

The serial number was AL20691225.

Wei Shen said,

"I engraved this myself, the first day we met."

But I distinctly remembered meeting Wei Shen in 2073, when he had just returned to the country.

That day was the Christmas party organized by the department, which Wei Shen skipped.

I quickly told him my doubts.

He shook his head.

"No, it was Christmas four years ago. I’d just been diagnosed with a hereditary disease and was kicked out of the family."
"Hopeless, you gave me your most valuable watch."
"But later, during treatment, I sold it."

I wasn’t angry. On the contrary, I was glad the watch had helped him.

Yet one thing puzzled me.

"Wei Shen, why didn’t you tell me the truth when you came back?"

He patted the empty nest.

"I came back to seize power. There was no guaranteed future. What right did I have to drag you into it?"

A wave of sourness welled up, and I sank into the nest, letting him hold me tight.

Wei Shen kissed my forehead softly.

"I’ve been buying shares of Wei Corporation. Yunqing was adopted and has a genetic defect. I knew they’d move against us. But I didn’t expect them to start with you, secretly urging other Lu shareholders to betray you."
"I had no choice but to let you go first."

It was that simple.

But that didn’t mean I wasn’t angry.

I scoffed, pulled away from the nest, and said,

"Fine, I get it. You stay here."

Wei Shen’s eyes widened in shock. Pitifully, he crawled to me, grabbed my shirt hem, and begged,

"Wife, please forgive me."

I raised an eyebrow in silence.

He grew more desperate.

"How about remarriage?"

I smiled sweetly and wrenched his fingers apart.

"Nope."

Tears instantly spilled from his eyes like free pearls.

"Can I borrow your coat? They all lost their scent."

My breath hitched, ears burning red as I slipped off my coat and left the bedroom.
